A newly opened kosher restaurant in Athens, King David Burger, was the target of an antisemitic attack late Saturday night, the establishment reported.

Posting on social media, the restaurant described how around 10 p.m., a group of six individuals arrived and carried out an act of vandalism. “A group of 6 people came to our restaurant… and vandalized the place,” the statement said.

The assailants distributed inflammatory leaflets to diners and defaced the property with antisemitic and anti-Zionist graffiti. Among the messages spray-painted were “No Zionist is safe here,” “Smash Zionism, fascism, colonialism,” and “Israel Death Forces.”

Authorities were able to quickly respond. According to the restaurant, police “found the person who spray painted and arrested everyone.”

Despite the attack, the restaurant confirmed that it remains open and is operating as usual.
