For the second time in less than a week, US President Donald Trump issued harsh criticism of the ongoing corruption proceedings against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, warning that the legal case could undermine sensitive negotiations with both Hamas and Iran.

Although Trump stopped short of threatening consequences, he made a pointed reference to America’s significant financial support for Israel, saying, “We are not going to stand for this.”

“It is terrible what they are doing in Israel to Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The former president described Netanyahu as “a war hero” and praised his leadership, saying the prime minister had “did a fabulous job working with the United States to bring great success in getting rid of the dangerous nuclear threat in Iran.”

Trump also stressed that Netanyahu is currently spearheading efforts to secure a hostage deal with Hamas. “Importantly, he is right now in the process of negotiating a deal with Hamas, which will include getting the hostages back.”

He then questioned why Netanyahu was being forced to appear in court while leading such critical efforts. “How is it possible that the prime minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a courtroom all day long, over nothing,” he wrote, dismissing the charges as minor and labeling the trial a “witch hunt.”

Trump further argued that the case threatens to derail both diplomatic and military efforts. “This travesty of ‘justice’ will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations,” he warned.

Calling the prosecution “insanity,” Trump said it was the work of “out-of-control prosecutors” and reiterated that the US, as Israel’s top supporter, has a stake in the outcome.

“The United States of America spends billions of dollar(s) a year, far more than on any other nation, protecting and supporting Israel,” he said.

“We are not going to stand for this,” he repeated, concluding with a message aimed directly at Israel’s legal system: “Let Bibi go. He’s got a big job to do.”
