A large crowd gathered Monday at the Holon military cemetery near Tel Aviv to honor Sgt. First Class Tzvi Feldman Hy”d, who was returned from Syria this week after missing for nearly 43 years after disappearing during the First Lebanon War.
The funeral began with an emotional tribute from Tzvi’s brothers, Yitzhak and Shlomo, who recited Kaddish.
His sister Anat delivered a heartfelt hesped, reflecting on the moment he was called to serve and the enduring hope that he might still be alive.
“The long journey of my life as the sister of a missing soldier began that Shabbat, when they came to draft Itzik [into reserves] and you said to Itzik: ‘Don’t be afraid of the battle, it will be okay,’” Anat recalled of her brother.
“My beloved brother Tzvika, you returned to us…“I am so proud of you.”
