7:15 Press conference has finished and reporters were not given an opportunity to ask questions, according to White House Pool reports. “I believe we had a very productive meeting,” Trump said. “There’s no deal until there’s a deal.”
As Putin spoke, Trump mostly looked straight ahead and kept a straight face, only glancing at Putin a few times, including when Putin referenced the previous US administration. Trump grinned at one point when Putin spoke about bilateral trade.

5PM – Hillary Clinton, former secretary of state and Trump’s 2016 rival, said on the “Raging Moderates” podcast Friday that if he ends the war in Ukraine without Ukraine giving up territory to Russia, she would nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize.
“Honestly, if he could bring about the end to this terrible war, where Putin is the aggressor, invading a neighbor country, trying to change the borders — if he could end it without putting Ukraine in a position where it had to concede its territory to the aggressor, had to, in a way, validate Putin’s vision of greater Russia, but instead could really stand up to Putin, something we haven’t seen, but maybe this is the opportunity,” Clinton said.
“To make it clear that there must be a ceasefire. There will be no exchange of territory. And that, over a period of time, Putin should be actually withdrawing from the territory he’s seized in order to demonstrate his good-faith efforts, let us say, not to threaten European security,” she continued. “If we could pull that off, if President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize, because my goal here is to not allow capitulation to Putin, aided and abetted by the United States. I think that’s a terrible, terrible precedent.”
4:40PM – Putin and Trump have been together for over an hour.
4:18PM – The meeting in Anchorage, Alaska is ongoing, and it is not clear how long it will last.
According to CBS, the duration of the talks will likely depend on how discussions unfold and the amount of progress made on the extensive list of agenda items. Earlier in the day, a Kremlin spokesman suggested the meetings could last six to seven hours.
Following the current bilateral session, a lunch meeting is planned with additional participants, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
A joint press conference with President Trump and Putin is expected after that larger gathering.
According to the official White House schedule, the president is set to depart Alaska at 5:45 p.m. local time, which is 9:45 p.m. Eastern Time. Under that timetable, his arrival back at the White House would be around 4:30 a.m.
