Missile Fired from Yemen Intercepted by IAF After Sirens Sound Across Yerushalayim and Shfela

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the IDF reported the launch of a missile from Yemen aimed at Israeli territory. Israel’s aerial defense systems were activated to neutralize the threat.

Warning sirens were triggered shortly afterward across the Yerushalayim and Shfela regions, alerting residents to the incoming danger.

In an official statement, the IDF announced, “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF.”

Zaki Heller, spokesperson for Magen David Adom, confirmed to Arutz 7, “Following the missile launch from Yemen towards Israel, no calls were received at Magen David Adom’s 101 emergency dispatch center regarding missile strikes or casualties.”

By approximately 1:13 a.m., the Home Front Command issued an all-clear notice for the affected regions.

Just a few days earlier, on Friday evening around 7:25 p.m., the IDF also identified a missile launch from Yemen targeting Israeli territory.

Sirens were subsequently heard across Yerushalayim, Shomron, and the Negev regions.

That attack was also thwarted, with the IDF confirming the missile was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force.

Magen David Adom issued a similar report at the time, stating, “At this time, no reports of known missile strikes or injuries have been received by MDA’s 101 dispatch center.”

In a recent pattern of escalation, missile threats from Yemen have become more frequent. Last Tuesday evening, sirens were again triggered in Jerusalem and parts of central Israel due to another missile launch.

The IDF later confirmed the interception, noting that two defense systems were deployed—an Arrow interceptor and a U.S.-made THAAD interceptor, to ensure the missile was neutralized.
