A violent neo-Nazi known by the alias “Commander Butcher” has been extradited from Moldova to the United States for planning large-scale attacks targeting Jewish communities in New York.

The suspect, 21-year-old Georgian national Michail Chkhikvishvili, was arrested in July 2024 and is facing charges for inciting hate crimes and orchestrating plans for mass violence. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Chkhikvishvili leads the Maniac Murder Cult, a global extremist organization known for promoting white supremacist and neo-Nazi ideologies.

Authorities say Chkhikvishvili encouraged others to carry out ethnic cleansing. He was caught instructing an undercover FBI agent on how to commit violent acts, which led to his arrest.

Chkhikvishvili advised the agent to use arson, explosives, toxins, and physical assaults against what he called “low race targets,” including Jews. One of his disturbing plots involved having someone disguise themselves as Santa Claus to distribute poisoned candy to minorities.

Earlier this year, he urged the agent to target Jewish schools and children in Brooklyn with poison. He even provided detailed, step-by-step directions on how to manufacture deadly substances and gases.

His influence reportedly inspired a separate attack in 2024, when an individual bearing Nazi insignia stabbed five people at a mosque in Turkey. That attacker had cited Chkhikvishvili in a manifesto.

Chkhikvishvili is set to appear before a federal court in New York later today.
