Days before President Donald Trump’s inauguration, and in light of his message to Hamas to release the hostages by January 20, the day he assumes office, reports indicate progress on a potential deal.

Negotiations have been underway, with a list of living hostages being delivered last week. The talks gained momentum with the arrival of Steve Witkoff, Trump’s appointed envoy to the Middle East.

Steve Witkoff, who has been in Qatar over the past few days, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem over the weekend to discuss the possible hostage deal.

Tonight, Prime Minister Netanyahu held a special meeting and decided to send a delegation led by Mossad Chief Barnea to Qatar to participate in and further the negotiations for the hostage deal.

Israeli sources reported after Shabbos of significant advancements in the ongoing hostage deal negotiations, which may be finalized before President-elect Trump’s Inauguration, just nine days away.
