Witkoff Meeting with Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has authorized Israeli negotiators in Doha to discuss a possible end to the war as part of ongoing talks with international mediators.
In an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, it was confirmed that:
“At this very hour, the negotiation team is working in Doha to explore every opportunity for a deal—whether through the Witkoff framework or within the context of ending the fighting that would include the release of all hostages, the exile of Hamas leaders, and the disarmament of the Gaza Strip.”
The announcement marks a significant shift, as just last week, Netanyahu stated that Israel would not end the war and that any hostage release deal would be conducted “under fire.”
The development is already causing political tension. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir—who previously exited the government during a past hostage deal—warned today:
“A deal to end the war without defeating Hamas will never happen.”
If a ceasefire advances, a new coalition crisis could be on the horizon.
