Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu apologized to the Qatari Amir regarding the recent assassination attempt targeting Hamas leadership in Doha, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to the Jerusalem Post.
According to a source cited by N12, Netanyahu expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Qatari security officer who was killed during the operation. The Israeli government is reportedly considering compensating the officer’s family.
The apology comes as a senior Qatari delegation is in Washington the same day as Netanyahu, with reports circulating that Qatar and the UAE are pressuring Israel to accept President Trump’s latest Gaza plan.
