Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu left Israel on Tuesday morning for a diplomatic trip to the United States, where he is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly and hold his fourth meeting with President Donald Trump. Speaking to reporters at Ben-Gurion International Airport before boarding his flight, Netanyahu outlined his agenda and delivered sharp words for those backing Hamas.
“I am now leaving, with my wife, for the UN General Assembly and Washington. At the UN, I will tell our truth – citizens of Israel, the truth of IDF soldiers, of our state,” Netanyahu declared.
The prime minister said he intends to call out world leaders who seek concessions for Hamas. “I will condemn those leaders who, instead of condemning the murderers…and burners of children, want to give them a state in the heart of Israel. This will not happen,” he said.
Turning to his upcoming discussions in Washington, Netanyahu emphasized the significance of his meeting with Trump. “In Washington, I will meet – for the fourth time – with President Trump and I will discuss with him the great opportunities our victories have brought, and our need to complete the war objectives,” he stated.
He then laid out Israel’s priorities moving forward. “To return all of our hostages, to defeat Hamas and to expand the circle of peace that has occurred for us in the wake of our historic victory in Operation Rising Lion and the other victories that we have achieved,” Netanyahu said.
Concluding his remarks, the prime minister sent greetings to Israelis and Jews worldwide. “This is also the opportunity to wish you, citizens of Israel and the entire Jewish People, a happy New Year, a year of security, prosperity and peace,” Netanyahu said.
