In a rare expression of raw emotion, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu blew up at judges during his corruption trial Wednesday, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The judges had urged the defense to hasten the review of every item of the indictment, in which Netanyahu is accused of taking bribes from Israeli companies.
“I’m usually in control, but I can’t accept what is being said here,” Netanyahu yelled, pounding on the stand with his fists. “They took our lives and made them miserable.”
Netanyahu launched into a tirade, saying that his life had been upturned by lies, which force him to come to court twice a week.
While the judges told Netanyahu to watch his tone, they also struck an empathetic affect, as they explained how certain legal issues were being explored to a point of redundancy, and they wanted to review other matters as well.
