The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have dealt a severe blow to Iran’s elite Quds Force, targeting dozens of its commanders in a series of precision strikes, according to Major General Shlomi Binder, head of the IDF Intelligence Directorate. The operations, which included a covert Iranian headquarters hidden in the mountains, underscore Israel’s aggressive response to recent Iranian missile attacks on civilian targets, including Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.

“We struck the Quds Force very hard on the first night,” Binder revealed in a statement. “This includes roughly 30 commanders, the names that were published are those of the more senior ones. But we’re talking about Chiefs of Staff and Air Force Commanders.”

The strikes targeted high-ranking officials within the Quds Force, a branch of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responsible for extraterritorial operations and support for proxy groups like Hezbollah. Binder’s remarks highlight the operation’s scale, which aimed to disrupt Iran’s military leadership and weaken its regional influence.

Binder also detailed a follow-up strike conducted two days ago, showcasing the IDF’s intelligence and operational capabilities. “Thanks to excellent work by the headquarters and command and control array, we struck one of the regime’s covert headquarters in the mountains,” he said. “Some of the commanders managed to flee to a secondary location. Twelve hours later, we succeeded in striking the Chief of Staff of Khatam al-Anbiya, who had fled to the same secondary location in another mountain ridge in Tehran.”

The Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters is a key Iranian military command center, and the elimination of its Chief of Staff represents a significant setback for Iran’s ability to coordinate its forces.
