NYC Boosts Police Patrols at Jewish Sites After Antisemitic Shooting at D.C. Museum

Police officers patrol at the Young Israel of Midwood shul Thursday morning
New York City police have stepped up patrols at shuls and Jewish centers around the city after Wednesday night’s antisemitic killing of a young couple
at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington.
Mayor Eric Adams, who earlier this month set up a municipal office to combat aniti-senitism, ordered a boost in the NYPD presence on Thursday.
Police visited several “sensitive areas” in the Jewish community in the five boroughs .
At Shacharis at various shuls, police would pull up in police cars and talk briefly with congregants to assauge any fears they may have had.
Elias Rodrigues, 30, of Chicago, allegedly opened fire at an event at the museum in Washington, yelling , “Free Palestine!”
The couple, employees of the Israeli embassy in D.C. reportedly was set to be engaged in about a week.
