Military intelligence received five warning signs in the hours leading up to the Oct. 7 massacre, but ignored them, the comprehensive report issued Thursday on the massacre and the security establishment’s response indicated.

The warning signs, including dozens of SIM cards from cell that were activated at the same time in Gaza, suspicious movements in Hamas’ rocket deployment, and others were given individual explanations, Ynet reported. Intelligence officals argued that similar incidents had happened in previous weeks, months and years.

The findings were part of a scathing IDF investigation into the massacre and Israel’s failures to prevent and adequately respond to the terrorist incursions.

However, no personal condemnations were made in the report; Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, who remorsely resigned earlier this year over IDF failings related to Oct. 7, has left his successor, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, to deal with disciplinary measures.
