The highest-ranking US military officer overseeing the Middle East has confirmed that he has presented former President Donald Trump with military options for striking Iran and stands ready to carry out such an order.
“I have provided the secretary of defense and the president a wide range of options,” said outgoing General Michael Kurilla, head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), during his testimony before the House Armed Services Committee.
When asked whether the US military is ready to act against Iran should Trump move forward with threats to launch strikes if nuclear negotiations fail, Kurilla confirmed that the preparations are in place.
