Netanyahu signed emergency restrictions today limiting gatherings in Meron ahead of Lag BaOmer after new intelligence warnings and a rocket impact near the site yesterday caused renewed discussions.
Under the restrictions, outdoor gatherings in the Meron area will be capped at 200 people and indoor gatherings at 600 people through Monday evening, effectively preventing the mass crowds and large Hadlaka events originally planned for the hillula.
Additionally, thousands of Jews had already arrived in Meron for Shabbos in preparation for Lag BaOmer.
