In the absence of a proposed text for the IDF draft law, the leaders of Degel HaTorah have instructed their representatives in the Knesset and government to resign from their positions.

The Rabbanim sent a letter via a special envoy to the Knesset, presenting it to the party leadership, who then informed the Prime Minister of their intensions.

The background is the lack of agreement on presenting a mutually accepted draft to pass a law preventing the drafting of yeshiva students.

Sources tell Belaaz that Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is currently testifying in court, sent representatives proposing to send a signed letter to the Rabbanim promising to address the issue and ensure a law is brought to the committee.

The Chareidi Parties have already rejected this proposal, as Netanyahu has made similar promises in the past, only to break them and fail to deliver the law.
