A delegation of recently released Israeli hostages and their families was hosted yesterday, November 19, at the U.S. Congress by leaders of the bipartisan Bring Them Home Caucus.

Lawmakers expressed strong support for the former hostages and pledged to continue pressing for the return of the three remaining hostages whose bodies are still held by Hamas.

Released hostages and family members thanked Congress, the U.S. administration, and American Jewish communities for their efforts in securing their freedom and emphasized the vital U.S.-Israel alliance.

“Today we succeeded in bringing both sides of the House together in one room — Democrats and Republicans united,” said Dani Miran, father of released hostage Omri Miran. “This is an opportunity to thank you, the American Jewish community, and everyone who worked tirelessly to bring these wonderful children back home. In less than a month we’ll celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights — thank you so much for all the lights you kindled for us.”

“When I was kidnapped from Nir Oz and separated from my family, my eldest daughter ran after me screaming ‘Daddy!’. For half a year I had no idea what happened to them, until I saw my daughter Lishay on television,” released hostage Omri Miran added. “When I saw her, I knew I had something to live for. Today my little girl says ‘Daddy’ and I’m here to answer her — and that’s because of you.”

“For me, standing here with my new brothers is a victory. It’s because of the people in this room that I can stand here freely, wearing my tzitzit,” released hostage Bar Kupershtein said. “We owe you everything — for fighting for us.”
