NYC Mayor Eric Adams might run as a Republican in this year’s mayoral race, after criminal charges against him were dropped by the Trump administration, according to a Thursday report in the New York Times.
The times, citing multiple sources familiar with the situation, said he discussed the options as recently as Monday, when news broke of the DOJ ordering prosecutor to drop their 5-count corruption case against hizzoner.
A source close to both President Donald Trump’s inner circle and Mayor Adams told Belaaz that there’s discussions if Adams runs as a Republican and fails to retain his mayorship, he will likely be granted a position in the Trump administration.
Primaries will be held June 24, but Adams only has until Feb. 14 to change parties.
