The United Arab Emirates is preparing to take control of Gaza’s civilian administration in a move supported by Israel and coordinated with the United States, Channel 12 reported Sunday.
Officials familiar with the discussions said Abu Dhabi has proposed assuming full responsibility for Gaza’s civilian affairs, backed by a multi-billion-dollar investment. Draft agreements have been exchanged among the three parties in recent days.
Under the initiative, the UAE would manage all markets and trade in Gaza, deploy armed security forces to protect logistics centers, and operate alongside U.S. private security firms.
All goods entering Gaza would be purchased from Israel, with Israeli contractors tasked with implementation. Existing distribution points would be reorganized into centralized logistics hubs serving Gaza’s private sector.
Senior Israeli officials described the plan as a “comprehensive Emirati takeover of civilian responsibility,” noting that the UAE is ready to enter Gaza at full scale and act as the territory’s civilian sponsor.
