Mere days after the Rusian government announced it would renovate the historic “Cantonist” shul in Tomask, the Kremlin agreed to restore another monument to Russian Jewry in Simprofal, a town once home to a large Jewish community.
The initiative was made possible through the efforts of Rav Berel Lazar, Chief Rabbi of Russia, and his son, Rabbi Yecezkel, who is a shliach in Simprofal.
