Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to visit Jerusalem’s Machane Yehuda market today, Tuesday, as part of the election tours he has been holding across the country in recent days.

Likud campaign staff had already arrived at the market, and the Prime Minister’s security detail had also begun preparing for Netanyahu’s arrival at Machane Yehuda.

However, Belaaz has learned that the visit was canceled at the last minute. According to a security source who spoke with Belaaz, the reason was “a real concern that the Prime Minister would be harmed.”

The same source noted that Netanyahu has held several election tours in recent weeks, but all of them took place in enclosed shopping malls rather than in open public spaces.
