The Satmar community led by Harav Aharon Teitelbaum shlita is working to reschedule a promised meeting between the Rebbe and President Donald Trump, sources told Belaaz Friday.

In February, President Trump was set to meet both Harav Aharon and the Gerrer Rosh Yeshiva, Harav Shaul Alter shlita, to acknowledge both Gedolim’s support for Trump during the election.

White House staff cited a busy post-inauguration period and the President’s desire to allow ample time for the Torah leaders as reasons for the delay, along with a planned presidential trip abroad.

The intended meeting was not merely ceremonial; it aimed to address “important matters concerning Jewish communities,” with preliminary discussions among Gabaim reportedly focusing on educational challenges in New York’s Jewish community.

The efforts of Satmar askanim appear to be unrelated to a potential meeting with Rav Shaul.
