Profanity-laden insults made behind President Donald Trump’s back led the president to coin one of his signature derisive nicknames for antisemitic news commentator Tucker Carlson, a White House source close to Trump shared with Belaaz Wednesday.

The source said that Trump was shown a video recently of Carlson speaking with a group of associates.

Carlson’s personal attacks on Trump led to the president calling him “kooky.”

Once a close personal confidant, Carlson has become a vocal opponent of many of Trump’s positions, especially his defense of Israel. After being fired from Fox News in 2023, Carlson, free of adherence to network rules, emerged as a vocally antisemitic, far-right figure, hosting Holocaust deniers and blasting US support for Israel.

“Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website Monday evening,” Trump wrote earlier this week.

Belaaz spoke with several influencial Jewish voices close to Trump, who said they are relieved and happy at the development between President Trump and Carlson, as Trump has indicated strong support for Israel despite segments of his MAGA and America First movement have shifted towards an isolationist view.
