A month after the brutal terror attack at Ramot Junction, a bittersweet moment of joy has entered the home of the Metzner family. The widow of Rabbi Yisroel HaCohen Metzner, Hy’d, has given birth to a healthy baby boy — a son who will never have the chance to meet his father.
The newborn joins his three orphaned brothers.
Rabbi Metzner was murdered on his way to kollel in the horrific attack at Ramot Junction in the middle of Elul, in which terrorists killed two other Jews.
He was among the most distinguished avreichim of the Maysharim Kollel and the son-in-law of Harav Dovid Greinman, head of Kollel Taharos in Yerushalayim.
During the shiva, Rabbi Metzner’s father, yblch”t Rabbi Uri Meir HaCohen Metzner, shared that just three weeks before the attack, his son had told his mother and wife, “It’s good to live in Yerushalayim, but I want to be buried in Bnei Brak.”
Indeed, his words came true — he was laid to rest with great kavor in the Beis HaChaim of Bnei Brak, accompanied by a large funeral procession attended by many Gedolei Yisroel.
