Teen Shot at Ave. J Q Train Station in Apparent Gang-Related Violence

A 16-year-old man was shot Sunday afternoon at the Q train station near Avenue J and East 16th Street in Brooklyn, according to police. The incident has left the local Jewish community in shock, as the area is typically considered low-crime.

Police sources told Belaaz that according to preliminary findings, the shooting is likely related to gang activity, though the investigation is ongoing. First responders rushed the teen to a nearby hospital.
The NYPD source says the victim is expected to recover.
The source added that a firearm was recovered at the scene, but it is not yet clear whether it belonged to the suspect or the victim. No arrests have been announced at this time.
