Iranian Jewish soldiers

An estimated 10 Iranian Jews were arrested by the Islamic regime in the wake of the 12-day war, accused of spying for Israel, askanim with knowledge of the matter told Belaaz.

Those arrested include a married couple, and a father and son, the askanim said.

The exact circumstances surrounding their arrests are unknown, but Iran is accusing them of being Israeli spies, or being in contact with Israel.

Historically, when there are problems with the Jewish community in Iran, Russian Chief Rabbi Harav Berel Lazar, shlita, has been able to enlist the help of the Russian government – a key ally of Iran – to assist in their plight. However, the askanim warn that tensions between the two countries over Moscow’s refusal to come to Iran’s aid during the war might curtail these efforts.

The tzibur is asked to daven for:

Farvod ben Roya and his wife, Elian bas Anita.

Kambiz Rachmat Rachamim ben Ayuma, and his son, Avraham ben Angela.
