Tragedy in Beitar Illit: 16-Year-Old Avraham Weingarten Z”L Passes Away After Choking

A devastating tragedy has struck the Beitar Illit community with the Petirah of 16-year-old Avraham Weingarten z”l, a Talmid at the ‘Amalah Shel Torah’ Yeshiva and a chassid of Karlin-Stolin, who tragically choked while eating and passed away.
The incident occurred last week during Chanukah , when Avraham z”l choked on food while in Beitar. He collapsed and was rushed to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim in critical condition. Sadly despite the best efforts of medical staff, Avraham z”l was Nifter this evening, B’Chadrei Charedim reported.
Avraham z”l spent his childhood years learning at the Karlin-Stolin Talmud Torah in Yerushalayim. He later moved on to learn at the ‘Amalah Shel Torah’ Yeshiva in Beitar Illit, where he was admired for his Hamadas Hatorah.
He leaves behind his grieving parents and 13 siblings.
Avraham z”l passed away on the night of the 60th Yahrzeit of his grandmother.
