The  Karlin-Stolin community was shocked by the heartbreaking news of the passing of Yosef Potash, z”l, who was niftar on Thursday at the age of 10.

The young boy, a resident of Modi’in Illit, passed away at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer after a brief battle with complications arising from the flu.

Yosef was rushed to the hospital last Wednesday after his condition deteriorated.

Despite the fervent tefilos of family, friends, and the community who pleaded for his recovery, his condition continued to decline until his passing this evening.

Yosef was the son of Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Potash, a respected figure and mechanech at the Karlin Stolin – Ramot Yeshiva. He was the grandson of Rabbi Menachem Potsch, one of the most prominent chasidim and a renowned Baal Tefillah.

On his mother’s side, he was the grandson of Rabbi Yosef Friedman z”l, a pillar of the Karlin community. The young Yosef was named after his grandfather.

Yosef was a student in the sixth grade at the Karlin Stolin Talmud Torah in Modi’in Illit, according to Bechadrei Charedim.

In light of the sudden tragedy, educational counselors have been dispatched to the Talmud Torah to provide guidance and emotional support to his classmates and their parents as they process the loss of their friend.

The levaya is scheduled to depart at 12:00 midnight from the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim. Kevurah will be on Har HaMenuchos.
