The Trump administration has halted Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students due to an ongoing conflict with the Ivy League school.
The administration’s Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, led by Leo Terrel, demanded extensive reforms, including changes to Harvard’s hiring and admissions processes and a government-approved audit of faculty members’ ideologies.
Harvard’s refusal to comply led to the government slashing over $2 billion in federal research funding, prompting the university to file a lawsuit to recover the funds.
Harvard currently has nearly 6,800 international students within its total student body of 24,596. These international students currently enrolled at Harvard must transfer to another institution or risk losing their legal status, CBS News reported.
