Trump Insider To Belaaz

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman is expected to soon be offered a position in Donald Trump’s new administration, sources close to the president-elect have confirmed to Belaaz.

David Friedman, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, had specifically requested the U.N. Ambassador role in a meeting with Trump before the election, but was turned down. Instead, Trump chose New York Rep. Elise Stefanik for the position, a source who attended the meeting tells Belaaz. Friedman later expressed interest in returning as Ambassador to Israel, but that role went to former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

A source close to Trump tells Belaaz that “Friedman will receive an offer very soon.” Friedman may be offered a senior advisor role, although it’s unclear whether he’ll accept, given his previous requests were declined.

Friedman played a crucial role in shaping the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
