In a last minute move, U.S. President Trump has announced a 90-day pause and reduction in tariffs for dozens of countries, but China won’t be so lucky. China’s tariffs will be hiked to 125%.

Citing China’s lack of respect for global markets, Trump declared, “Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately.”

Trump also stated in his Truth post, “I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.”

The White House had earlier denied rumors of a 90-day tariff pause, labeling them as “fake news”.
