Rabbi Moshe Margeretten, President of the Tzedek Association, has condemned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (AOC) baseless accusation that Elon Musk made a Nazi salute at a Donald Trump inauguration event on Monday. Rabbi Margeretten emphasized that it’s absurd to accuse someone who has consistently supported Jewish causes of promoting hate.
In a statement shared with Belaaz, Rabbi Margeretten strongly rejected AOC’s accusation, stating, “It’s absurd to accuse a hand that has repeatedly and generously supported Jewish causes of being extended this time in a gesture of hate.”
He emphasized the need for unity and love, adding, “What we need now is love and unity, not hate and baseless division.”
Rabbi Margeretten also expressed his gratitude to Elon Musk, saying, “Thank you Elon Musk for your continued outreach of kindness and love.”
As the leader of the Tzedek Association, Rabbi Margeretten has been a vocal advocate for justice reform, humanitarian aid, and religious liberty. His organization has worked tirelessly to promote bipartisan support for criminal justice reform, including the First Step Act.
Currently, the Tzedek Association is focusing on advocating for the passage of the Infertility Coverage Act, which aims to provide insurance coverage for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments. President Trump pledged during his Presidential campaign to make IVF treatments paid for by government or insurance companies if he’s elected. This critical legislation seeks to alleviate the financial burden faced by countless individuals and families struggling with infertility.
Rabbi Margareten has built a reputation for his bipartisan approach to advocacy. While he has strong ties to Trump’s inner circle, he has also fostered relationships with senior Democrats and Republicans alike. This ability to bridge the partisan divide has enabled him to effectively advocate for criminal justice reform, humanitarian aid, and religious liberty. And now advancing the infertility bill.
