As the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) began its session Monday, Justice for Jews from Arab Countries (JJAC) and other organizations held an event focused on raising awareness about Jews who were forced to flee Arab and Muslim lands.

“Over the course of mere decades in the 20th century, most Middle Eastern lands were collectively emptied of some 99% of their Jewish population, pushed out by expulsion and persecution in one of modern history’s most dramatic but little-recognized mass displacements,” the groups stated.

The gathering at the Palais des Nations, the UN’s European headquarters in Geneva, is intended to underscore that the number of Jewish refugees from the Middle East was greater than that of Palestinian Arab refugees, the organizers emphasized.
