Iran has agreed to host a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the near future to discuss the reinstatement of camera monitoring at the Islamic regime’s nuclear facilities, according to the head of the UN’s nuclear oversight body. He described the move as a positive sign regarding Iran’s stance on nuclear discussions with the United States.
Following his discussions with Iranian officials in Tehran last week, IAEA chief Rafael Mariano Grossi addressed reporters in Washington. He joins both U.S. and Iranian representatives in expressing cautious optimism after a second round of negotiations held Saturday regarding Iran’s accelerating nuclear ambitions.
Iranian officials are approaching the matter “with a sense of trying to get to an agreement,” Grossi says. “That is my impression.”
The US has thus far held two indirect negotiation summits with the terror-sponsoring country, as President Donald Trump has warned of severe consequences for Iran should a deal not be reached soon.
