The US Department of Treasury has imposed sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan in response to his decision to indict Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes.

This move is part of a broader effort by the US government to protect its allies and citizens from ICC investigations and prosecutions.

This move comes after last week on Thursday, February 6, President Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the ICC. The executive order states that the ICC has engaged in “illegitimate and baseless actions targeting America and our close ally Israel.”
