US Navy Jet Crashes into San Diego Bay, Two Pilots Rescued in Stable Condition

A U.S. Navy EA-18G “Growler” electronic-warfare aircraft crashed into San Diego Bay near Naval Air Station North Island on Wednesday morning. The crash occurred near Shelter Island at approximately 10:16 a.m. local time, prompting an immediate response from emergency services Fox News reported.
The two pilots aboard the aircraft ejected safely and were successfully rescued by a fishing vessel, the Coast Guard said. After being pulled from the water, the pilots were transferred to a local hospital. Fortunately, both pilots were reported to be in stable condition, according to the Coast Guard.
The pilots were in the water for about a minute before being rescued.
In response to the crash, fire officials deployed a large team to the scene, including 60 personnel, two fire trucks, a foam truck, five engines, a helicopter, two boats, and a lifeguard river team. The Navy has not yet confirmed if a distress signal was sent prior to the crash.
The incident is under investigation, with authorities working to determine the cause of the crash.
