Two American security workers, in Israel as part of a humanitarian mission to Gaza, rescued a 17-year-old Israeli girl from drowning on Ashdod beach on Monday evening.

The dramatic incident took place near the Leonardo Hotel, where the two, one a security guard and the other a paramedic, were winding down after a long day working on aid distribution efforts to Gaza. Their evening took an unexpected turn when a distressed local man ran up to them, shouting in Hebrew and clearly in need of urgent help.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the two men followed him to the shoreline. John, one of the security guards, dove into the sea but was initially unable to see due to the setting sun. With directions from his colleague on the shore, John was able to locate and rescue 17-year-old Naomi Raidler.

After pulling her from the water, the pair left the scene quickly, concerned about drawing attention from local authorities. Despite their quiet exit, their actions left a lasting impression.

“I want to talk to them and say thank you,” said Naomi, who was later taken to the hospital in good condition.
