US Task Force Finds Harvard Guilty of ‘Willful Participant in Antisemitic Harassment’

A federal task force has concluded that Harvard University failed to safeguard Jewish students from harassment, a finding that could jeopardize the Ivy League institution’s federal funding.

The Trump administration’s investigation suggests that Harvard violated civil rights laws, which mandate that colleges protect students from discrimination based on race or national origin.

Investigators determined that Harvard was “at times a willful participant in antisemitic harassment of Jewish students, faculty, and staff.” The task force’s findings indicate that campus leadership in Cambridge, Massachusetts, allowed antisemitism to “fester on the campus.”
Officials conveyed in a letter obtained by The Associated Press, and initially reported by The Wall Street Journal, that “Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government.”

Harvard University did not immediately issue a comment regarding the findings.
This development marks the latest escalation in the White House’s ongoing dispute with Harvard. The university previously experienced a loss exceeding $2.6 billion in federal funding after it declined to implement a series of federal demands advocating for comprehensive reforms to its campus governance, hiring practices, and admissions policies.

According to The Wall Street Journal, a letter sent to Harvard President Alan Garber stated, “Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government.”
