Video: IDF Repositions Across Gaza, Maintaining Control Of Over Half The Strip

The IDF released new footage Sunday showing its forces repositioning throughout Gaza but remaining outside the enclave’s main cities amid the ongoing ceasefire.

“Southern Command forces continue to be stationed along the updated lines of deployment, in accordance with the ceasefire and hostage return agreement framework,” the military said in a statement.

Under the terms of the current arrangement, Israel continues to hold control over 53% of Gaza’s territory, most of it outside densely populated areas. However, not all of that land is actively manned by ground forces, as many IDF positions remain concentrated closer to the Israeli border.

The army added that its deployment is intended “to eliminate any immediate threat to the troops and to the residents of the State of Israel, and to the residents of the western Negev in particular.”
