US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, joined by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, visited the Kisel on Friday, expressing optimism about the newly signed ceasefire agreement in Gaza days before the president’s arrival on Monday to oversee the transfer of hostages.

Witkoff was introduced to the mitzvah of 4 Minim as well, and was seen shaking a lulav and esrog.

Standing near the Kosel, flanked by Kushner and a delegation together with Kosel Rav Garav Shmuel Rabinowitz shlita, Witkoff told reporters he was “very happy” about the ceasefire that he helped negotiate on behalf of President Trump.

“We are very happy that the hostages will hopefully out on Monday,” he said, adding that “there will be peace, and lots of lives saved.”

Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Israel on Thursday, following several days of intensive negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, that resulted in an agreement between Israel and Hamas for both a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

Officials confirmed that President Trump will travel to Israel on Monday morning, joining Witkoff, Kushner, and his daughter Ivanka. He is scheduled to address the Knesset before departing later that same day, in what aides described as an “in and out” visit coinciding with the expected release deadline for hostages under the Gaza ceasefire deal.
