Following a period of medical care in Los Angeles and recovery in Davos, Switzerland, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlita of Bnei Brak is set to return to Israel Tuesday. He is expected to participate in the Lag BaOmer celebrations, a deeply significant event for his Chasidim who sorely missed his presence over Pesach.
The Rebbe, currently recuperating in Davos, will fly back to Israel Tuesday evening on a private plane. He will then take part in the Lag BaOmer lighting ceremony, held in the Great Hall of the Vizhnitz community in Bnei Brak. Thousands of Chasidim from across Israel and overseas are expected to attend.
After Lag BaOmer, the Rebbe is expected to continue his recovery with a rest period at a moshav near the Yerushalayim hills, where he will remain until Shavuos.
The Rebbe had been residing in Los Angeles since the end of Shevat. He underwent complex medical procedures shortly after Purim which were baruch Hashem successful.
Unfortunately, his plans to spend Pesach with his Chasidim did not materialize.
