The Vizhnitzer Rebbe, Harav Yisroel Hagar shlit”a was mechazek thousands of Chasidim over Shabbos, telling them to be happy over Purim even though the Rebbe will be in the U.S. for Surgery in the coming weeks.

Besides it being Shabbos shira, it was also the Shabbos Sheva Brachos of the Rebbe’s granddaughter.

At Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe spoke of the surgery he is expected to undergo in the coming weeks in Los Angeles due to a serious condition. He said that while he wil not be with them for Purim, they need to be b’simcha, and asked that they recite Perek 119 of Tehillim on the day of his operation, but not with the K’ra Satan expressions. His name for davening is Harav Yisrael ben Leah Esther.

Rav Chaim Meir Hagar, the Rebbe’s son and Rav of the Vizhnitz kehilah, will lead the Purim Tish instead of the Rebbe.

The Rebbe said: “I went through a difficult winter, and now we are moving toward a difficult surgery, we need everyone to daven.”
