Hagaon Harav Moshe Sternbuch shlita said Motzoei Shabbos that the joy of finishing even one sugya is so immense that a seudas mitzvah should be held in celebration.

According to Bechadrei Charedim, the remarks were made at the conclusion of his weekly shiur at his Kollel “Teshuvos Vehanhagos,” which is named after the Rav’s renowned series of Halachic seforim.

For the past three months, the members of the Kollel have been deeply immersed in the complex Sugya of mechitzos. After delivering dozens of in-depth shiurim on the subject, Rabbi Sternbuch and his students marked the completion of the study with a “Lechaim.”

Addressing the talmidim, Rav Sternbuch said “the joy is so great that it was appropriate to hold a seudah and simcha for each halacha in its own right.”

Rav Shternbuch, 99 years old, is considered one of the foremost poskim in the world. He is the Gaavad of the Eidah Charedis and in recent years has been referred to as the Posek Hador.
