Trump administration officials displayed Sunday night dozens of posters featuring arrested illegal immigrants along the White House lawn.

The move was intended to underscore President Trump’s hardline stance on illegal immigration as he nears his 100th day in office and faces a significant drop in support, according to multiple polls released earlier Sunday.

The posters, labeled with “ARRESTED,” detail various alleged crimes committed by the depicted individuals and are marked with the White House’s official seal at the bottom.

Roughly 100 posters are being placed strategically across “Pebble Beach,” the area where reporters frequently broadcast live shots with the White House in the background. According to a White House official speaking to Axios, the goal is for the posters to appear behind TV correspondents during their live segments.

Posters stationed near the West Wing allege offenses by unauthorized immigrants such as “first-degree murder,” “abuse of a child,” “kidnapping,” “murder,” and “distribution of fentanyl” among other heinous offenses.

Although Trump has seen a drop in various polls recently, including on topics like the economy and immigration, which have traditionally been strong areas for him, his advisors still view immigration enforcement and deportations as a political advantage.

“You can expect the White House to tout the many promises made on the campaign trail that have been fulfilled in the president’s first 100 days,” a White House official told Axios.

The posters are intended to showcase “some of the worst illegal immigrants and criminals the Trump administration has arrested since taking office.”

On Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem foreshadowed the upcoming publicity campaign with a post on X: “If you are here illegally and you break the law, we will hunt you down, arrest you and lock you up.”

White House border czar Tom Homan is slated to hold a press briefing Monday morning to further spotlight the administration’s immigration actions.

An ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll released Sunday shows Trump’s overall job approval rating at this stage is the lowest for any president in the past 80 years.

While his approval ratings have dipped across most categories, immigration continues to be his most resilient issue, according to a new Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll.

In that survey, 52% of respondents said they believed Trump’s deportation approach was either “about right” or “hadn’t gone far enough.”

Overall, 46% approved of Trump’s handling of immigration, about 10 points higher than his approval rating on the economy and trade.

Nonetheless, even Trump’s support on immigration shows signs of weakening.

A YouGov/Economist poll conducted late last week indicated his immigration approval rating had slipped to 45%, down 10 points from April 16.
