A draft proposal for a 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the US, Egypt, and Qatar, has been outlined.

The Witkoff Ceasefire Proposal includes key steps: a hostage release 10 Israeli hostages on days 1 and 7, with 18 deceased.

Agreement also includes humanitarian aid to Gaza via the UN and Red Crescent, and a halt to Israeli military activities in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will redeploy from northern Gaza on day 1 and southern Gaza on day 7, with final boundaries set during negotiations. In exchange, Israel will release 125 “life sentence” prisoners and 1,111 Gazan detainees post-October 7, 2023, alongside 180 Gaza-based Gazans.

Negotiations for a permanent ceasefire will begin on day 1, aiming to conclude within 60 days, with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff overseeing the process and President Trump announcing the agreement.

Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official stated, “The new proposal does not meet our demands, but we are still examining it,” indicating ongoing deliberations.
