Israeli outlets reported that fighter jets were dispatched on Sunday to accompany a Wizz Air flight traveling from London Luton to Ben-Gurion Airport after a suspected security issue emerged mid-flight.

N12 News said the alarm was raised when a passenger onboard received a strange message that sparked fears of a possible attempt to threaten the aircraft.

Authorities later assessed that the same passenger may have renamed a WiFi account to “terrorist” and sent threatening messages to others on the plane, according to N12.

The Israel Airports Authority announced that the suspected threat was ultimately dismissed, and the aircraft completed its landing at Ben-Gurion Airport without injuries or damage.

Footage circulating on social media appeared to show Israel Police officers waiting on the tarmac as passengers arrived.
