A 48-year-old woman was moderately injured after an Arab man broke into her home on Or HaChaim Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.. According to reports, the attacker assaulted the woman with an axe in front of her screaming children.
The attacker fled the scene while shouting in Hebrew, “She’s a Christian.”

Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene for injuries to her neck and arm before transporting her to the hospital for further care.
A neighbor who lives in the apartment above told Kan News: “I heard horrible screams from the apartment below, and when we went to check, we saw a man leaving the scene shouting ‘She’s a Christian.’ He didn’t harm us, but he could have hurt me and my mother. He left the axe behind and fled. I don’t think this was a terrorist attack because he could have harmed us but didn’t. I don’t know who the suspect is.”
According to an Israel Police statement, multiple Jerusalem District police units, under the command of the Jerusalem District Commander, are conducting an extensive search for the suspect while investigating the circumstances of the incident.
