During an air raid alarm that sounded Sunday morning in central Israel, a 35-year-old woman was injured after tripping and falling into a ditch along Highway 4 while trying to escape from her vehicle and find shelter during an air raid siren.

Emergency responders from various rescue organizations arrived at the scene and provided her with initial medical care. She had sustained injuries to her limbs after falling from a height of nearly 10 feet. She remained conscious and in moderate condition while being transported to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv for further treatment.

Haim Bergman, Deputy Director of Rescue, along with motorcycle unit medic Benny Greiniman, recounted the incident: “When we arrived at the scene, we were directed towards a ditch on the side of the road, where we found the woman injured. She said she stopped on the side of the road following the alarm, wanted to find a safe place, and then fell into the ditch. Together with MDA teams, we immobilized and bandaged her, and she was evacuated for further medical treatment.”

United Hatzalah paramedics Aharon Avital and Menachem Slovatsky added, “Bystanders informed us that she had fallen into a deep ditch while attempting to reach a protected area. After administering initial treatment at the scene, she was transferred to an intensive care unit.”
