A man who tried to commit robbery in Flatbush pulled off the opposite of a “hit and run” when trying to flee from police Monday afternoon.

The suspect, whose name is not available at this time, brandished a gun and demanded money from an employee at the post office located on Coney Island Avenue between Avenues I and J at around 1:13pm. He then fired two shots, but when he failed to obtain any money, he proceeded to try robbing a nearby Western Union.

Flatbush Shomrim tells Belaaz that when his second thievery attempt failed, he fled on a “getaway” moped but was hit by a car on Coney Island Avenue, which provided police with the perfect opportunity to arrest him.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
